Branding the Remote Update System (RUS) Installer

This section is relevant only for LDK Products/Entitlements.

The Sentinel Remote Update System (RUS) is an executable utility that you can customize (brand), and send to your end users to enable secure, remote updating of the license and memory data of Sentinel protection keys after they have been deployed. RUS branding enables you to associate the RUS utility with the Batch Code of the keys that you want to update. You can also define, format, and preview the GUI that is to be displayed in the RUS.

You can rebrand the RUS installer to include the name and logo of your company using the RUS Branding option on the Developer tab. You can use the formatting toolbar to give a professional look to your company name by adjusting the font size, type, color, and alignment. You can also provide a link to your company's official website. All the changes made on this page will be visible when you generate and run the RUS installer.

The following table explains the options available on the formatting toolbar along with a brief description for each of them.

User Interface Element	Purpose / Description
	Select a font type from the drop-down list.
	Click the up and down arrows to adjust the font size.
	Click the icon and select a color to apply to the selected text.
	Click the button to make the selected text bold.
	Click the button to make the selected text italicized.
	Click the button to underline the selected text.
	Click the (left, right, or center) button to align the text to the left, right, or center of the page respectively.
	Click to remove previously applied formatting from the selected text.
	Click to hyperlink the selected text to an external website(http or https).
	Click to enter the URL(http only) to include your company logo (or any other image) on the RUS installer.

To rebrand and view the RUS installer:

• From the Batch Code drop-down list, select an option.
• In the white space, enter the text(such as company name) and select it.

  

• From the Font Name drop-down list, select a font type.
• To adjust the font size, click the up and down arrows .
• Click the Colour to choose a colour for the selected text.
• In the Font Style section:
  • To make the selected text bold, click the B button.
  • To make the selected text italicized, click the I button.
  • To underline the selected text, click the U button .
• In the Alignment section, click a button to make the text left, right, or center aligned respectively.
• To remove previously applied formatting, click the Remove Formatting button.
• To use the company name as a hyperlink, select the text and click the Link button. The Link Options pop up is displayed.
• In the Link URL field, enter a website address(http or https).

  To open the website in a different tab, select the Open in a new window check box.

• In the Description field, enter a brief description about the website.
• Click OK.
• To insert your company logo:
• Click the Insert Image button. The Image Options pop up is displayed.
• In the Image URL field, enter the location of the image.

  You can link to an image file stored on your machine or a website address starting with http. Support for secure sites(https) is currently not available.

• Click OK.
• To (optionally) make the generated RUS tool available only for HL keys, select the Limit to HL only check box.

  If you select the Replace default RUS file check box, the generated RUS tool will overwrite the default RUS tool of Sentinel EMS. The default RUS tool is available for download in the Generate License and Activation screens (for example, see Generating a V2C File to Manually Activate a Product).

• Click Generate. The file download dialog box appears.
• Download and Save the file on your machine.

  You can generate the RUS utility using Windows, Linux, or Macintosh OS; however it can be executed only using Windows OS.
